Speed- it’s something so many people enjoy. The rush of wind all around, the whistle it creates in your helmet, the rush, the adrenaline, the thrill of the race…. Well race fans, this hat’s for you. In commemoration of your pursuit of glory, we present to you: the elusive and highly sought after, checkered flag. Be it cars, boats, motorcycles, snow mobiles, farming tractors or lawn mowers (I’m looking at you Wisconsin!), we know the checkered flag spurs you on towards victory. Now it can keep you warm too.
It’s also reversible, for when you accidentally smear grease on it.

Aside from the reversibility, double knit hats are twice as thick and much warmer than your standard knit hat. This is an absolute necessity if you live in the Great White North as I do. If you’ve never tried this technique, I encourage you to give it a chance. It’s a bit tricky in the beginning, but doesn’t take too long to get the hang of it. And it gives you the opportunity to do some color-work in the round, without Faire Isle or Intarsia.
