A shawl to explore colour and structure with the movement of bias kitting and the fascination of short rows. Let me introduce you to a new style of knitting that I am calling “kaleidoscope knitting”!

Kaleidoscope knitting explores the boundaries of knitting and takes it into new and different directions—literally. It is knitting for the adventurous knitter. Like the images in a kaleidoscope, the work is made up of sections that build on each other, resulting in an explosion of colour and shapes.

“Spell of the Evening” is an introduction to this new way of knitting.

This multi-coloured shawl is worked on the bias on a base of Garter Stitch. Every WS row is knit. A series of short rows create shapes within the body of the shawl.
