Pattern Description from Interweave Knits, Holiday 2008:
Alternating yarns create an accordion-like fabric out of straight stockinette stitch: Light and airy mohair puffs away from a heavier merino blend.

Finished Size: About 3¾“ in diameter and 6½” high, relaxed.

Yarn:

  • ShibuiKnits Merino Kid (55% kid mohair, 45% merino; 218 yd [199 m]/100 g): #MK220 peony (magenta) and #MK1675 pagoda (red-orange), 1 skein each.
  • ShibuiKnits Silk Cloud (60% kid mohair, 40% silk; 330 yd [302 m]/25 g): #SC229 mulberry (deep purple) and #SC181 rust, 1 skein each.

Needles: Sizes 6 (4 mm) and 10 (6 mm): set of 4 or 5 double-pointed (dpn). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.

Notions: Marker (m); tapestry needle; plastic canvas round (optional).
