Sometimes I enjoy a stitch pattern so much that I find ways to incorporate it into other projects. Like its shawl counterpart on page XX, the patterning on the Spiced Ginger Cowl is created with a series of simple increases and decreases. The rich, umber twists with flecks of tweed may send you on a hunt for peppery gingerbread cookies before you’ve finished.

Cast-on flat and joined to work in the round, the design begins to form quickly and will become easy to follow without a pattern after just a few repeats. In spite of its appearance, the texture pattern is worked with simple increases and decreases (no cables!).
