I designed this hat after a trip to Peru, where I saw traditional weavings with spider designs. I spun and dyed both yarns. I machine knitted and then dyed the variegated yarn and vat dyed the black yarn. The hat is knitted in Fair Isle and the crown in slip stitch.

The last picture is was the prototype of the published hat.
