In the summer, I’m always looking for light jackets or “cover-ups” to wear over a tank top - which is why I designed this lightweight cotton piece. The airy, web-like lace is one of my favorite crochet patterns, and I love the way it looks in self-striping yarn. I made this one to hang about knee-length, but you can adjust the pattern to whatever length you like. It fits very loosely, so you can wear it comfortably in hot weather.

This jacket is crocheted in one piece from the top down, with single crochet and slip- stitch edging added last to give it structure. The lace pattern tends to look wrinkly right off the hook, but once you run an iron over the finished piece it flattens and drapes nicely.
