The spiral log cabin is a variation on the log cabin blanket. The spiral uses 2 colours, and is very easy to make. Perfect for colder days.

The blanket can be made in any size, with any yarn (though a bulkier yarn is recommended) and has no set gauge (you want a loose fabric in garter stitch).
Also very doable for beginning knitters.

As a yarn guide:
for my own spiral I used appr 3 grams (=5 meters) per block of 10 stitches x 10 ridges (10 st x 20 rows).
Every block is a multiple of 10x10, so e.g. block 10 = 50 st x 10 ridges, so should use 5x3 grams (=25 meters).

Please note that this is with my yarn, and different yarns (and knitters) may use different amounts per 10x10 block.
I would advise you to make a swatch of 10 st x 20 rows to calculate your own yarn requirements.
