Spiral Shawl
by Erica Gunn
This shawl was born from thinking of the curves of a seashell - stacks of triangles turning into graceful curves. It’s knit from the top down, adding increase pairs along the way to achieve a shape that hugs your shoulders and wraps around for easy closure with a shawl pin.
I knit my version in a delicately shaded hand dyed yarn, but the design works equally well with more assertive color changes, or with stripes. See the pattern announcement post for very different versions knit by my test knitters. The pattern contains a detailed discussion of how you can adjust your version to match your own preferences.
