I love the lather and suds that a sponge creates, however I do not like the ick factor of using a sponge and trying to keep it clean! This pattern creates a small double layer dish cloth (closed on three sides) by knitting in the round. I like to leave the bottom of the cloth open for more space between the layers, however it could easily be seamed if you prefer! The two layers of fabric are knit at a slightly looser gauge to help create air space and squish for a nice lather, which I find is missing when using single layer dish cloths.

While the finished size for this dish cloth is fairly small (5.25” w x 4.25” h), there are notes in the pattern instructions for making a larger dish cloth.

Any DK or worsted weight kitchen cotton yarn will do!
