Meet Spoons up!, a stranded fingerless glove pattern written with a US-based Shetland wool yarn in mind. Featuring knitted spoons for those of you who love soup, Shakesville, or the Spoon Theory.

You’ll need:

  • size 4 circular or double-pointed needles (or whatever size it takes to obtain gauge)
  • 100-125 yards of sport weight yarn per color
  • buttons (optional)

Before you start knitting, it will help if you have a basic understanding of stranded colorwork, knitting in the round, and mitten construction (though I do give a knitter a hand in this department with tips and links).

Maple Ridge Sheep Farm yarn is not available in stores -- you have to order skeins directly from the farm, and for that reason, you may want to substitute a sport-weight yarn of your choice that knits up in the correct gauge. I’m not affiliated with MRSF! I just love Shetland yarn.
