The Spotted Salamander is the official state amphibian here in Ohio, and my brother who takes me and my children to witness the salamander migration every spring is expecting his first child, and that child will be coming with us for the first time in 2018. So, I am making actually a hoodie for a baby with this design on it, but I always do hats instead of swatches. Because one can give hats away as presents. The hat ends up being the perfect size for a child. Feel free to modify the design to fit a grown up head or a baby head! For the salamander loving person in your life.

The child’s hat uses a bit less than a half skein of both the main color and contrast color, so one could easily get 2 hats from the skeins listed.

I prefer to use 2 sets of circular needles when I work in the round, but totally can be done with just one set as well.
