Sprig Of Hope is a crescent shaped shawl that starts out with a step by step garter tab cast on that grows into a Trellis Lace Inset and ends with the Sprig Lace Border. This shawl is a very friendly pattern suited for those new to shawl knitting, while remaining appealing to the more experienced knitter. The end product of this pattern is a nice full bodied shawl that when wrapped stays in place due to the lovely crescent shape.

On Saturday April 12, 2014, Twist Knitting and Spinning held their second annual Sheep to Shawl to raise money for Autism Speaks. I had the privilege of spinning with many other volunteers for this 2 day event. You can check out Twist Knitting and Spinning Facebook page to see all the generous volunteers who helped make this event such a huge success.

This shawl pattern is my way of “paying it forward” by creating a year long fundraising event allowing me to donate the proceeds of this shawl pattern to Autism Speaks at the next annual Twist Knitting and Spinning Sheep to Shawl event in the Spring of 2015.

Thanks in advance for purchasing this pattern and helping us to raise money for Autism Speaks. I hope you enjoy!

5-14-16 A huge thank you to everyone who purchased this pattern over the past year. Because of your support, I was able to donate $500 in April at the annual Sheep to Shawl event held at Twist Knitting and Spinning. I’m so happy to report that the event raised over $6000 for Autism Speak.

So…Let’s do it again! All proceeds of this pattern over the next year will be donated to Autism Speaks in the month of April 2017.

5-1-15 Let’s do it again!
Starting May 1st 2015 through April 2016 all proceeds of this pattern will be donated to Autism Speaks.

4-22-15 Today, as I post this update, my heart is filled to the brim with gratitude.

Nine months ago I hit the send button and published the Sprig Of Hope. I did this as a fundraising effort in partnership with Twist Knitting and Spinning, who holds their annual Sheep to Shawl event during National Autism Awareness month.

My goal was to raise $500 from the sale of this pattern. With your generosity, I not only met my original goal but exceeded that number and raised $1489.00.

On April 18th and 19th 2015, a lot of hands and feet worked together to make this event a huge success.
The Sheep to Shawl together with the Sprig Of Hope raised a little over $5000.00 for Autism Speaks.

A huge thank-you goes out to all who purchased this pattern in support of this cause! xoxo
