Perfect for pulling out of your purse on a breezy spring day, this is a triangular shawl knit from the center-back out. The body of the shawl is stockinette, which is edged with a simple lace repeat.

This pattern was designed with a beginner in mind and could easily be a first shawl or first lace pattern. This could also be whipped up quickly by an experienced knitter in need of a spring shawl or a quick gift.

The stockinette body is also great for hand-painted yarns because the beauty of the yarn is not competing with a patterned stitch.

Only size 7 (4.5mm) or size 8 (5.0mm) needles are needed, not both.

No gauge is recommended for the pattern because all that is needed is a fabric that drapes well and pleases the knitter. Knitting on large needles practically ensures this. Fussing about gauge should be saved for fitted projects where it really counts.

This pattern includes both fully written instructions as well as charted lace instructions.
