This bottom-up garment starts with twice as many stitches as you need for three-quarters of the garment--the back and left front. It uses an easy technique to bind off every other stitch on the first row, and then a simple, repeating 3-stitch short-row series in 1x1 rib to create the spiraling bottom edge of the garment. Although this edge is knit on a smaller needle, it is blocked to the full width of the garment resulting in instant drape! The bottom half of the Right Front is knit on the larger needles and finally joined in the round with the Ribbed Spiral piece so that the bodice can be knit together up to the neck and armholes.
