Spring Feverish 2024: Project II: Patch Bandana!

Knit a square kerchief from the center out! This project uses two yarn colors for a patchwork look. Wear the finished kerchief like any bandana, pair it with a shawl pin or a neckerchief slide, or work optional buttonholes into the corner as shown in the sample.

Materials:

  • About 160 yards C1 (Cascade Heritage Wave in 501/Plume colorway shown) and 230 yards C2 (Premier Yarn Serenity Sock Weight in Navy); fingering-weight yarns that are around 430-440yds/100g should substitute well
  • 1 48” circular needle in US4/3.5mm, or size needed for gauge
  • Crochet hook, 2.25mm or suited to yarn
  • 4 removable stitch markers
  • Tapestry needle
  • OPTIONAL: 2 buttons sized to fit eyelets

Gauge is 20 sts and 38 rows over 4”/10cm of blocked garter stitch, worked flat. Please be sure to check your gauge!
