Daffodils add a touch of spring to this classic style vest — simply embroidered in stem stitch from the graph shown on this page.

Materials: Main colour (mc) 4 (4, 5) Patons Gem 50g balls, 1 pair each 3.25 (No 10) and 2.75 (No 12) Milward Patons Beehive knitting needles; 4 buttons; Milward tapestry needle for sewing seams and embroidery. 1 hank each of three contrasting colours of Coats Anchor Stranded Cotton for embroidery.

Measurements: Fits bust 80 (85, 90) cm, measures 86 (91, 96) cm, length (approx) 52 (52, 53) cm.

Tension: 27 sts and 35 rows to 10cm over stocking st, using 3.25 needles.

Note: To achieve the desired soft effect, this garment has been designed to be worked on larger needles at a looser tension than usually recommended.
