Where I live, the first day after February that reaches 40 degrees is cause for celebration: car and house windows open up, boots are traded in for flats (some crazy people even break out the flip flops), and winter jackets are abandoned in the closet. Well, that day is here! Even if we are bundled back up by tomorrow, I want to celebrate; hence this soft, lightweight scarf with a garden theme.

The Spring is Here! Infinity Scarf is a lace infinity cowl, meaning it is in a circle rather than having two ends. The lace sections of the scarf are designed to look like delicate leaf vines waking up after a long winter, taking over the garden once more, and are accented by two solid panels made to look like rose petals.

I made Spring is Here! of Cascade Heritage Silk Paints: it’s a fingering weight yarn and is made of 85% merino wool (super soft wool that is not as scratchy as other types) and 15% mulberry silk. As a result, in addition to looking delicate and lacy, the scarf is incredibly soft and light, so you won’t feel hot, uncomfortable, or scratchy in it as the weather grows warmer.

Gauge: One leaf section is approximately 6 inches tall
