This design is pretty easy. You have to count on the front side as you cable over 1 stitch to move the trellis design to the right and left as you work your way up the pattern. The only stitch you need other than Knit and Purl is a Cable Twist to the left and a Cable Twist to the right. The Border is in Seed Stitch.
I have designed it in 3 sizes so its like getting 3 afghans in one. Make the side that works for you.
The gauge of the pattern is not that important. An afghancan be a little bigger or smaller than noted size. All sizes of afghans are warm and inviting. If you want the afghan to be a little tighter weave, use a size 8 need 9 needle which will make the overall size smaller. If you want something open and loose go up to a 10 and see how big and floppy it is. The only extra supplies you will need is a Cable Stitch Holder. I am planning on doing a video to show how you can make the two cable twist without a cable needle since mostly the cables are 1 over 2 or 2 over 1.
I used Plymouth Encore or Berroco Comfort, it’s 100% Acrylic and soft. Really has a great finished look. However, Red Heart, Bernat, and Lion Brands yarns will work just a good. So don’t feel you have to use the one I used. The yardage amount show a wide span of yards because of the 3 sizes. If you change the needle size or more pattern repeats, you will need additional yardage.
