This frilly jacket is sure to please your little girl. It is knit from the top-down and includes puffed sleeves at the shoulders and gathers at the sleeve ribbing. The yoke is created using a modified version of the contiguous sleeve method. The button bands are picked up after the body of the jacket has been completed.

(approximate age) Girl’s 1 (2, 3, 4, 5)(6, 8, 10, 12)

1) You should be able to read abbreviated knitting instructions.
2) You will have to know how to knit and purl, increase and decrease, cast on and bind off.
3) You will also need to know how to pick up stitches from the finished vertical edge to work the button band ribbing.
4) You should have some knowledge of short rows. However, if they are new to you, I have included a photo tutorial as well as a video for reference.
