This is a pattern for plain Springtime Cow.

There are two versions of the PDF -- one with UK terms and one with US terms. Make sure you download the right one! I should say that the pattern was written with UK terms and “translated” for the US version as best as I know.

You will need a basic knowledge of crochet, and to be able to do puff stitch, slip stitch, ch, double-crochet/single-crochet (UK/US), increase and decrease. The pattern uses “decrease” to mean one stitch that joins two, I use the invisible decrease.

It’s a highly variable pattern, so I would recommend you play around with whatever yarn you want. I used Vikings of Norway Pure Milk fibre and a 2.75mm hook. Anything between sport and aran weight yarn should work fine if you keep all the colours consistent. Use a hook 1cm smaller than suggested by the information slip on the yarn.

The cow turns out roughly 7cm tall with horns

Uses a very small amount of yarn, but you’ll need at least 2-3 colours.
