Springtime in Philadelphia is a fingering weight hat version of the Springtime Bandit shawl. Knit from the top down, this beret features increases integrated into the pattern motifs, a beautiful leaf lace and clean 1 x 1 rib at the brim. Originally designed to showcase what just one skein of Canopy Fingering can do, it has become a company classic.

YARN: The Fibre Co. Canopy Fingering (50% baby alpaca, 30% merino, 20% viscose from bamboo; 200 yds/50 gm skein): orchid, 1 skein.
GAUGE: 28 sts and 36 rnds = 4” (10 cm) in lace pattern on larger needles, after blocking.
NEEDLES: 1 - 16” (40 cm) size US 0 (2 mm) circular. 1 - 16” (40 cm) US 2 (2.75 mm) circular and 1 - set US 2 (2.75 mm) dpns, or size to obtain gauge.
​NOTIONS: 6 stitch markers (m), tapestry needle.
SIZE: 18” (45.75 cm) brim circumference, unstretched, 10” (25.5 cm) diameter.
