This is the first of five linked patterns for a knitted Springtime wreath. The base is a polystyrene wreath; mine is about 25 cm wide but the pattern could easily be adapted for different sizes of wreath.

This pattern explains how to cover the wreath with a knitted cover and how to knit the leaves that are the backdrop for the other decorations. The other four patterns are for flowers and creatures to nestle among the leaves.

All the patterns use DK weight yarns, you can use any yarn of about this weight. The cover for the wreath takes about 50g of yarn and you will need a total of 100g for the leaves.

All my ravelry patterns are free to download but, if you enjoy them, please consider making a donation to the Children’s Liver Disease Foundation, a charity which funds research and supports the families of children with a liver disease. You can do this easily by going to my fundraising page www.justgiving.com/frankiesknittedstuff

Happy Knitting!
