These socks are written for knitting in the round from the toe up using the magic loop method. There are two toe shape options (rounded or wedge), a Chevron Rib Stitch design made up of a simple combination of knit and purl stitches on the inseam and leg, a Turkish heel (which features a heel flap and turn but no gusset), and three leg and cuff options (ankle sock with double-thick cuff, ribbing cuff, or crew sock with ribbing cuff). Photos, stitch charts, and written instructions are included.

SIZES
Small (Medium, Large, Extra-Large)/S(M,L,XL) to fit foot circumference 7.5” (8”, 9”, 10”)/19cm (20cm, 23cm, 25.5cm), measured around the ball of the foot (the widest part of the foot). The length/height is adjustable.

YARN
Approximately 170-437 yards/155-400 meters fingering weight sock yarn in a merino wool and nylon blend. I recommend a solid colour with good stitch definition to show the texture of the ribbing and chevron stitch pattern.

NEEDLES
US Size 1 (2.25mm) long circular needles (32-40”/80cm-100cm cable), or size needed to obtain gauge. While this pattern is written for magic loop knitting on long circular needles, you may substitute for a set of double pointed needles (DPNs) and/or 9” circular needles if preferred, adding additional stitch markers to mark the beginning and middle of rounds.

GAUGE
18 sts over 2”/5cm in stockinette after blocking (row gauge isn’t important for this pattern)

This pattern has been fully test knit by knitters with a wide variety of experience.
