Knit most of Squalicorax on the bias, starting from a small cast-on and increasing from there at a nice, leisurely pace. This shawl features a multidirectional structure that’s fun to knit and shows off a self-striping or gradient yarn well, and if you’re using a single skein, you’ll only have two ends to weave in when you’re done.

Materials:
370-400 yds or 2 skeins of Malabrigo Rastita
1 48” circular needle in US5/3.75mm, or size needed for gauge.

Measurements:
As shown, this shawl measures 50”/127cm long by 17”/43cm deep at the widest point.

Errata:
If you’re working from the earliest version of the pattern, the diagram on Page 4 has an error! The handwritten 107 should be 170, and match the numbers in the main text.

New .PDF is up! This version features a more intuitive instructional layout for the repeating pattern. This adds some length to the .PDF, but also brings it in line with Panthalassa’s written layout. Pattern purchases currently include both the original version and the new one, so you can use whichever you prefer.
