Want to make a simple but pretty cord basket? Here you go. The pattern for this cord basket is indeed simple because only basic crochet stitches are used, including the chain stitch, double crochet stitch, single crochet (optional), and slip stitch.

Cord basket adorn every room, especially the nursery. The basket shown was created as a diaper holder, but you can find many other functions for your basket.

To make the basket, I used a 6 mm hook, but some crocheters, especially newbies in crocheting, might find size too small. Size 7 mm also works very well for this pattern, especially if you tend to keep the yarn, or cord as in this case, quite tight.

You are going to need some cord for macrame, which is soft to work with, but baskets turn out quite stiff if you make tight stitches.
