This soft and simple baby blanket features alternating squares in Stockinette and Moss Stitch, with a Moss Stitch border around the edges. The blanket knits up quickly in dreamy soft Snuggle Puff yarn. This is a great project for a beginning knitter, as it has no shaping and uses basic knit and purl stitches to create the pattern.

The finished blanket is 32” in length and 25.5” in width.

The gauge is 16 stitches and 24 rows over 4” in stockinette stitch, or 16 stitches and 32 rows over 4 inches in Moss Stitch.
To save time, take time to check gauge.

This pattern can be made with any Aran/bulky weight yarn. You will need approximately 710 yds. The blanket is shown here in KnitPicks Snuggle Puff (70% Cotton, 30% Nylon,142 yds/50g per ball), in Platapup #27815, 5 balls total.

You will also need straight or circular knitting needles in size US 10 (6.0mm) or whatever size needed to obtain the gauge.

This pattern includes a black and white chart as well as full written instructions, so you can choose according to your preference.
