A quick to knit cephalopod, worked in the round with garter stitch stabilizing fins and i-cord arms/feeding tentacles. Make one or make many, they work up quickly in small amounts of yarn; they’re perfect for scraps. Use them to decorate gifts, to hang in your creative space, or just make one because they’re cute.

Like many other softies, gauge isn’t crucial but you want to use the yarn and needles that give you a firm fabric that won’t allow stuffing to show through.

The yardage required listed is generous, my squids each us between 4 and 6 grams of fingering or sport weight yarn (approximately 15-25 yards.) If your gauge varies greatly from mine you will require more or less yarn.

Pattern has been tech edited and test knit.
