This is a 2-color sequenced spiral (“squirrel”) cowl that is knit using a simple repeat of knits and purls. The pattern stitches are drawn from the book Sequence Knitting: Simple Methods for Creating Complex Fabrics by Cecilia Compochiaro, and used with her kind permission. It is knit in the round with an easily memorized pattern repeat of 12 stitches and an offset of either one or two stitches between rounds. The two variations give two different textures, which are attractive on each side even though not fully reversible.

You will need about 250 yds of each of 2 colors in a fingering/4-ply (14 wpi) weight yarn.
