Detailed instructions are included in this single pattern to create a headband, messy bun or full crown!

I love knitting. Obviously. I’m sure you do, too. My absolute favorite thing about working with yarn and needles is creating an interesting texture. When I stumbled across the cartridge belt rib, I was super excited! Aside from the questionable name, it was PERFECT for creating an incredibly squooshy texture and as an added bonus, I could cable one side while the reverse would remain squoosh-ably ribbed as well!

I am a sucker for any stitch pattern that turns my squooshable yarn into something even more squooshy. This squooshy cable design utilizes a background made of the very squishable “cartridge belt rib.” Due to the slipped stitches in this ribbing, it gives a unique depth as well as leaving the look of ribbed stitches on both sides of the piece. On the “right” side of the hat, you will have the slipped stitch columns swaying back and forth while the reverse side will be straight squooshy ribs.

Another version of the cables can be knit (chart and counter provided on the mods page!) for a different version of the cabled side.
