Pattern comes at the end of a novella, Saint Anne’s Child written by Jane Ann Jibson, author of The Maid’s Shawl. The story takes place on Mackinac Island in Michigan. With this purchase you will be getting the book in PDF format, and the patterns, and the chart. The mittens are charted and show scenes from Mackinac Island, Arch Rock, St. Anne’s Church, Skull Cave, and the Lighthouse with the breakwater. Each mitten shows different scenes, with the Straits of Mackinac and sailboats as the background. I used 3 skeins of Cascade 220, in order to get the colors, but used only half of each skein. I think about 100 yards of each color in a different worsted weight yarn would be plenty. These were test knitted by a great friend and knitter, Cris Platto.
