St Lucy is celebrated in Sweden and in Swedish speaking parts of Finland.
She is celebrated on December 13 with parades and songs.
Every school and kindergarten class had their own parade and one lucky girl got to be Lucy and wear the candle crown. This girl usually had long blond hair, and that was probably the reason why I never got to be Lucy, my hair was short.

Whit this beanie I get to be Lucy every year!

This beanie can also be made into a layer cake beanie, by substituting the green yarn with a self-striping yarn.
