Stabby Cat is a pattern for knitters who want warm fingers, really, really warm fingers. Knit a cat with a grumpy face or a giant grin. Feeling stabby? Needle felting is a relaxing way to work away your daily aggravations! The knitted finger puppet base provides a firm surface to add intricate felted details. Make tabbies, tuxedos, tortoise shells and more! Use the base as a stepping stone to make an array of other characters.

The knitted puppet base is worked in the round with short rows to shape the cat grin and the cat base. There are 2 head options, one with an open mouth and one without. The puppet has a flat bottom so it can stand on its own without any support. While there is no wet felting involved, I recommend using a yarn with 50% or more wool for better needle felting. Pdf is 6 pages long, and includes 3 pages of needle felting guidelines.

With thanks to Erin for the original inspiration, Tabi for tech editing, Patrick for going over needle felting instructions, Ina for cat photos.
