Update: I am expanding the pattern for other sizes. I am looking for 2 test knitters for either 36 inch or 38 inch finished bust measure ment. Test knitters must have time to finish the project within 2 months and must have moderate to high experience with short rows, double sided lace knitting, provisional cast on, and the other techniques listed in this pattern. Test knitters will get a free pattern and their finished piece may be posted in pattern page. Please send me a message if interested.

This is a fun, interesting pattern for the moderate to advanced knitter because it involves several techniques, including: diagonal knitting, lace knitting, provisional cast-on, short rows, and a keyhole button detail.

The piece offers more coverage than my other pattern, Pianissimo. The outer bodice has a higher front and back neckline, a longer torso, and sleeves. The bias draped neckline is created so that the edge folds inward, creating a softer edge to the neckline. The flutter sleeves are created in a symmetrical lace pattern.

The piece is made of 2 yarn materials. Wool for the outer bodice & for the slip’s lower half. Tencel for the slip’s upper half. This smooth yarn 1) provides a contrasting background & depth of color behind the outer bodice’s lace pattern, and 2) allows the wool bodice to drape smoothly, and 3) provides a silky feel for warmer weather.

The slip is made mostly seamless! Only the straps need seaming. It involves short rows, provisional cast-on, and 2 yarn types.

Only one size available: finished bust measurement is 34 inches. Other sizes to-be-announced at later date.

Yardage:
Wool Yarn: Laceweight , 1095 yards/1001.27 meters
Tencel Yarn: Laceweight, 378 yards/345.64 meters

Tools needed: 1 US 4/3.5mm circular needle, 1 circular needle to be used as a long flexible stitch holder (can be either US4 or smaller), 1 stitch holder, markers, crochet hook (any size- for making the buttonhole loop), button, needle and thread.
