STAGGERED FERNS - an asymmetrical triangular shawl, knitted from side to side. The decreased stitches are placed apart from yo’s and form corded ribs that are gently curved to right. Yarn over pattern makes simple fern. Multiple repeats of the gauge 10 sts x 10 rows creates staggered pattern.
Easy to memorize: after couple repeats it allows to distant yourself from the written pattern.
The shawl could be ended after any 10 rows repeat. So, if you have just one skein of yarn around 400 yards, make a little shawlette, or good size shawl 75 inch x 22 inch with 2 skeins.
Fringes could be added to the taste of the knitter.
