Stand by me is a top-down, seamless cardigan with wide, overlapping fronts.
We start the work with the collar, which is shaped with some increases then the stitches of the fronts are set aside and the upper back is worked from the shoulders to the underarms.
Then fronts are worked separately from the shoulders to the underarms where the pieces are joined and worked in one piece to the hem.
The stitches of the sleeve caps are picked up around the armholes then they are shaped with short rows.
Sleeves are worked in the round from the underarm to the cuff in 2x2 Rib which creates a very stretchy fabric. The sleeves are extra long, they can be worn backfolded.
The slipped stitch edges of the fronts are worked simultaneously with the body.
