This design was created in memory of my sister, Michele, who died much too soon of vulvar cancer. She sparkled with the love of life and of people and so I chose stars to keep her memory shining bright.

This shawl is a rectangle knit from end to end. The stitch pattern is inspired by Estonian lace stitch patterns but, the construction of the shawl is not Estonian. Instead of a lace border that is sewn on, it has a simple seed stitch border that you can change to garter or even a lace edging if you prefer.

I used a handspun yarn but I think you could use any laceweight yarn with a needle size that gives you a hand you like. I used Addi US 1.5 needles but I tend to knit very loosely.

Warning - the pattern has not been test knitted by anyone other than myself so there may be errors. Please let me know if you find any and I will post a corrected version. Thanks.

UPDATE - Version 2
