This stegosaurus is knit flat. There are two sides of the body, and spines and legs are knit seperately. Gauge is unimportant, but it should be tight to avoid stuffing from showing, especially if it is a baby toy.

You should know how to knit, purl, P2tog, P2togtbl, K2tog, SSK, and know Mattress stitch for seaming.
