This sweater features beaded detailing and a simple silhouette with empire-waist, ¾ sleeves, and scoop-neck.

Vibrant hues of aquamarine blues and violets transport you to the sea—the theme is repeated in sea shell scallops along the sweater bottom edge. The quilted lattice stitch in the bodice is gorgeous with the multicolored stranding in the yarn.

Optional beading at the cross hatches of the quilted lattice stitch and between sea shell pattern at sweater edge glisten like tiny dew drops adding just a touch of glass glimmer at the bodice and bottom edge.

Sleeves are set into armhole by picking up stitches and knitting top-down. The simple stockinette stitch and shape are perfect for learning this technique which simplifies finishing.

Choice of yarn:
Nocturne DK, color#310 (Crystal Palace Yarns).
I selected this yarn for its beautiful color and light loft. I tend to be a natural-fiber-only snob, but the microfiber added to this blend gives a lightness that works perfectly with beading—a pure merino yarn is too heavy with the added weight of beads.
