A stepover is a soccer move that confuses an opponent: appearing to push the ball one way but actually stepping over it, then pushing in a different direction. The alternating zigzags of this dramatic scarf are eye-catching and impressive whether or not they’re paired with fancy footwork.

The Stepover Scarf is worked flat from the short end. Three 12-stitch repeats are worked down the entire length, with short Garter Stitch sections at either end. The small cables are worked with twisted stitches, with some increases and decreases worked on wrong-side rows. The stitch patterns are both written and charted.
