This is the pattern for Cardigan B only of the Steps to Stranded Baby Cardigan packet. For the whole packet (at a discount!), see the pattern page for Steps to Stranded Baby Cardigans.

Cardigan B is an easy, top-down circular yoke cardigan that is perfect for boys or girls. It uses about a pair’s worth of sock-weight yarn for the MC and about 75-100 yards (the amount often left over after socks) of CC. It makes use of Barbara Walker’s “mosaic knitting” technique to produce a patterned yoke without ever knitting with more than one color at once.

The pattern is perfect for beginning to intermediate knitters who know how to knit and purl but would like to learn simple garment shaping and take the first steps toward two-color stranded knitting. If the sleeves are knit in the round, the cardigan requires no seaming at all, but the pattern also includes fully illustrated, clear directions for how to do every technique besides knit and purl included in the pattern (including mattress stitch seaming).
