Stheno is a rectangular shawl/scarf with gently curving cables framing a leaf motif. The body of the shawl is worked in one piece with the garter stitch lace edging knit onto the ends.

Instructions for the stitch patterns are given in both charted and written form.

Most of the called for yarn is used for the shawl. Only about 10 yards were left after knitting the sample, size medium shawl.

It is very simple to make the shawl longer by repeating the lace pattern to the desired length.
