The crescent shaped shawl is available in S, M and L sizes; or can be customised to your liking according to the Customisation Notes.

The shawl starts with just a few stitches, as it is worked from the neck down. Stranded and lace knitting techniques are combined in the pattern. Only two colors are used on any one row. Previous experience with colorwork on WS rows is recommended.

S size uses just one skein of sock yarn for the main color. For contrasting colors you can use leftovers or mini skeins. Use yarn with high wool content: wool will give you the right amount of ‘grip’ for colorwork, while still stretching enough to show off the lace pattern. The shawl has to be blocked to shape, so choose yarn that holds blocking well.

The yarn suggestions are based on the recommendations of test knitters who worked shawls from these yarns. Photos of the sample shawl courtesy of Antal Szentendrei.
