The design of this “pirate-style” hat is taken from an area of fossilized dinosaur footprints. So cool, to think how many years ago they were stomping around!

This is a big, floppy hat. My big lumberjack of a husband wears this comfortable (just for scale, he’s 6’2” and well over 200 lbs). It will fit an adult or large teen head circumference of up to 24”. Unstretched, the ribbing measures 17” in circumference.

It’s charted on an easy to read chart with instructions included for working from the chart. Only a few rounds of ribbing and then the rest of the hat is just knit stitches and k2tog at the top decreases.

You will need 1 skein of color 33104 (brown) and 1 skein of color 33158 (green) or at least 216 yards of brown and 200 yards of green in a similar worsted weight yarn. It’s knitted on size US 8/5mm 16” circular needles and a set of four size US 8/5mm double pointed needles.
