This moderately oversized sweater is constructed in two sections: the short sleeves, front and back yokes are knit flat from cuff to cuff, then, once the underarms are seamed, the body is picked up from the yoke and worked in the round. The only seaming is the short underarm seams. The openwork pattern looks fabulous on the right side or the wrong side, so the sweater can be worn either way. The openwork is complemented by the wedge of garter stitch in the body and in the sleeves and the optional knitted flower at the bottom. And because the openwork pattern knits up longer than the corresponding garter stitch, the sweater takes on a sideways asymmetric profile. So if you are looking for that unique little top, this is the pattern for you!
