Cowl is worked double-stranded, with two strands of yarn held together and used as one (use two balls at the same time, taking one strand from each). It is worked in the round and in garter st: purl one round, knit one round. Use stitch marker to indicate beginning/end of each round. (Note: garter st in the round as used here alternates purl and knit rounds. Garter st on straight needles means every row is a knit row.)
