This pattern was used for the Game of Thrones MKAL 2014! Details regarding the MKAL are below, however if you purchase the pattern today, you will receive the option to download the pattern in it’s full form instead of in clues.
Here are the details for this year’s Game of Thrones Mystery KAL:
-The KAL pattern will be released in 6 clues on the following dates:
May 4th - Clue 1
May 11th - Clue 2
May 18th - Clue 3
May 25th - Clue 4
June 1st - Clue 5
June 8th - Clue 6
-This year we will be knitting a lace shawl inspired by Daenerys Targaryen! The mystery is in the design…
-The recommended yarn is 2 skeins of Lorna’s Laces Shepherd Sock and we are using the May ‘14 Limited Edition color designed especially for this KAL - “Fire and Blood” which will be released on Friday, April 25th and only available at Jimmy Beans Wool. Lorna’s Laces Solemate is also an appropriate substitute, and as usual, you are welcome to use ANY fingering weight yarn of your choosing. You are never required to buy yarn from Jimmy Beans Wool to participate in one of our KALs. Anyone is welcome!
-The pattern difficulty level is considered Intermediate. The stitches are basic enough (a list of abbreviations is available immediately when you download the pattern in case you need to brush up on any skills), but there is some interesting shaping that may challenge you a bit (in a good way of course.)
-The pattern will include both written instructions AND charts (by popular demand!)
-The KAL will be hosted entirely on Ravelry this year, so the pattern will also only be available on Ravelry.
-Each Sunday during the KAL, you’ll receive a message on Ravelry that the pattern has been updated. You can download and print each clue individually, week by week.
-After the KAL is complete, everyone who purchased the pattern will receive a final version of the pattern in it’s fully formatted and completed form.
-As usual, we’ll have threads for each clue in the Jimmy Beans Wool Group here on Ravelry, so come on over and join in the conversation, ask questions, get help with the pattern, etc.!!!
If you’ve participated in past KAL’s with JBW and myself, feel free to check out the JBW Blog explaining some of the improvements/changes we’ve made to our KAL format. We think you are going to love it!
