The Stormchaser Shawl is a top-down shawl designed to look fantastic even with handpainted and highly variegated skeins, though it also has enough visual complexity to shine with a tonal or solid.

The pattern includes a multitude of options for a range of finished objects. The lacier option needs just one skein for a shawlette, while the more solid version uses two skeins for a full-sized shawl. Both options feature easy-to-remember repeats so you can adjust the size. Plus, the pattern also has instructions for making your own repeats.

The solid shawl should lay perfectly straight even with little to no blocking. However, the lacy shawl tends to slope slightly without blocking. It should block straight without any issue, so don’t be worried if it’s sloping a bit while you hook!
