Inspired by George R. R. Martin’s Game of Thrones series, the Storm’s End shawlette features a wide lace border, and is knit from bottom edge to neck, with short rows to shape the body of the shawl.

The “stormy” blues, purples and whites of the Zauberball colorway reflect the cliffs and sea, and I’ve chosen a lace border called “Seaweed” from Weldon’s Practical Knitter, 23rd series, published in 1893.

I used Derya Davenport’s excellent Crescent Shawls Shaping Worksheet (http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/crescent-shawl-sh...) to design the short row shaping for my shawl. Highly recommend!
