This pattern is available for free.

Size shown here is 1-2 years.

You can easily adjust the size by making the vest shorter/longer and by increasing/decreasing the number of stitches you cast on(decrease or increase in the number of stitches should go to edge stitches and between cables, ie purl stitches).

There are two kinds of cables in the pattern. One is a 6 stitch, and the second is worked on 8 stitches. There are 3 purl stitches separating cable patterns.

Sept 2008:

Size 2-3(4) years old.

The one i have made her a year ago is too small now, and the vest has been passed on to my girlfriend’s daughter. I promised Maya to make her a new one, and here it is.
I have made a few mods to my own pattern. I have knitted it in the round, and made it a couple of sizes bigger so it will last her 2 seasons …hopefully.
The errata on the changes is posted on my blog (sept 2008). This way you can either knit it in the round or as 2 pieces…up to you! Also it shows how i sized it up.
