Stormy Skies fingerless mittens
A pair of easy fingerless mittens that give the single crochet (US) double crochet (UK) a good workout.
The cuff is made by working in the back loops only. The main body of the mitten is worked in the round using waistcoat stitch, extended single crochet (US), chain double crochet (UK) and the top is finished with reverse single crochet (US), crab stitch (UK).
Easy to make in any colourway. I used Stylecraft Special DK in grey (Yarn A), storm blue (Yarn B) and parchment (Yarn C).
Any colours could be used - great for using up stash as only small amounts are used (133 yards of yarn for both mittens).
The download includes the US and UK version to print out. Both editions have tutorials for working the sc/dc in the back loops only, for waistcoat stitch, reverse single crochet (crab stitch) and extended single crochet (chain double crochet). The printable core pattern is 2 pages with four pages of tutorial and a page of information on tension/gauge and yarn requirements.
